Brian Horwitz (born June 16, 1983, in Harbor City, California) is an ice hockey player who competed for Cal State Long Beach and currently plays in Europe.
Brian Horwitz from El Segundo, California, competed for the Cal State Long Beach 49ers Ice Hockey Team from 2005-2008. In his three year career there he was the leading scorer three years in a row and currently the all-time leading scorer for Long Beach State. Finishing the three years with 107 goals, 123 assists, for a total of 230 points in 90 games played. He also had 236 penalty minutes receiving 150 of those minutes in his first season with the team. Horwitz also owns the single season record for points at Long Beach State accumulating 47 goals and 55 assists for 102 points in 30 games in the 2006-2007 regular season. This season Horwitz finished top scorer in the league (out of 150+ teams representing approximately 4000 players) with 102 points. Horwitz also helped lead the team to three regional tournaments and the team's highest ranking at third in the Western Region in the 2007-2008 season. Horwitz received 1st Team All Region honors in the 2006-2007 season and 2nd Team All Region honors in the 2007-2008 season.
For the 2009-2010 season while traveling through Europe Horwitz played in Varese, Italy for the Ice Sport Varese Killer Bees a team that competes in the Eastern Region of the Swiss Hockey 3rd Amateur League. Ice Sport Varese is the only Italian team that plays within the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. During this season Horwitz helped the Bees to a 3 Liga Championship which gives them the option to move to the 2 Liga if they can acquire the needed funds. Horwitz lead the league in both goals and points with 50 goals and 68 points. His 50 goals was good for an all time Swiss 3 Liga record.
